In 2001 she was given permission to teach by her Master-Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit and started teaching a small group of students in Tralee. She now has schools in Dublin, Cork as well as Kerry. In the years between 2001 – 2007 she has travelled all over Ireland teaching, and has students in Galway, Donegal, Athlone,Waterford, Limerick, Clare and London. Sifu Joan Browne will teach:                                   'Deepening Skills, Increasing Joy’ through the Treasure of Shaolin 18 Lohan Hands.

In the Shaolin Tradition, there are three known treasures- Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung, Shaolin Kungfu and Zen meditation. Sifu Joan will lead students in one of the treasures- Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung. This is a very special traditional set of the Shaolin Wahnam Institute. Students will learn how to flow more deeply through each pattern, using breathing, mind focus and energy flow.

We will also discuss the effects of Stress on the individual and how Shaolin Chi Kung is a 'one stop' shop instead of taking individual medication for high blood pressure, anxiety, heart problems, depression etc

We will discuss the importance of Forgiveness and how it can become almost a 'poision' in our body, if we do not 'let go'.

We will also discuss the importance of Gratitude!

This was the set taught by the great Boddhidharma to the Shaolin monks in 527AD to enhance their physical and spiritual aspects.

 Course Content

1)     Entering a Chi Kung or meditative state of mind.

2)     Practise each pattern in a Chi Kung state of mind.

3)     Generate Energy Flow

4)     Standing meditation

5)     Patterns: Lifting the Sky, Shooting Arrows, Turning head, Plucking stars, Thrusting Fist with angry eyes, Merry Go round, Nourishing Kidneys, Carrying the moon, Three levels to the Ground, Dancing crane, Carrying Mountains, Drawing Knife, Presenting Claws, Pushing Mountains, Separating Water, Big Windmill, Deep knee bending and Turning knees.

You can read more on this set on:

http://www.shaolinwahnamireland.com/ireland/chikung/lohan.htm

The regular correct practice of Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung has helped many many people overcome so called ‘incurable’ or chronic diseases. It also helps increase vitality, mental focus, well being and to increase the ability to live life with a sense of purpose and joy.

Sifu Emiko Hsuen will teach:                     'Stand up for your Self and your Life' through the Principles of Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan.

Tai Chi Chuan is not just about performing a classical set over and over again. Tai Chi Chuan is, first and foremost, a combat-efficient art. It
is graceful, elegant and deceptively powerful - an art suitable for gentlemen and ladies of all ages. This fun-filled 8-hr course is designed to
give individuals a comprehensive grasp of what genuine Tai Chi Chuan is all about. By the end of this workshop, participants will have the tools to

Comments on last Dublin weekend course conducted by Sifu Joan Browne

Firstly, thank you for the great course last weekend. I have just finished my qigong morning practise! I feel like a door has just opened and a dark period of my life is coming to an end. So thank you Sifu and by proxy Sigong. As you know I had become very disillusioned with martial arts here in Ireland, so I am very interested in the possibility of Shaolin Kungfu coming here, it would be a wonderful opportunity. It would be an honour to be considered for any upcoming classes.  J.D.  Dublin.

Sifu Joan, Thanks for a great course in the Jury’s Inn on April 1st and 2nd.   M.B. Dublin

More information on Shaolin Chi Kung- what you will learn, benefits, code of conduct etc

What you will learn at a weekend or weekly Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung course:

Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is an ancient Chinese art, which was kept a well guarded secret by the Chinese for many centuries. It was only taught to Emperors, generals and the elite students in the Shaolin temple. It is not a martial art, but can be used to build internal force in martial art training. Chi Kung incorporates form, breathing, mind focus and energy flow.

Today, we are very lucky to have the chance to learn this priceless art. Professor Sen, a leading Chinese Scientist, has predicted that high level ‘Chi Kung’ will be the greatest medical breakthrough in this century.
