UPCOMING EVENTS-2008

TEACHERS OPEN THE DOOR

YOU ENTER BY YOURSELF!

CHINESE PROVERB.

There are many events happening in Shaolin Wahnam Institute of Ireland, from the wonderfully inspiring courses conducted by Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit during Valentines week  ,  6- 12-24 week courses and weekend Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung courses, Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan courses with Sifu Joan and Shaolin Kungfu with Sifu Mark Hartnett in Cork and Padraig Shanahan in Limerick..  Plus all the other bits in between---Themed courses on Shaolin Chi Kung, reviews on WahnamTai Chi Chuan, The Annual Conference, The Scholar Project in November,  the 200 club and celebration of World Chi Kung and Tai Chi Chuan Day -whch will be on the last Saturday of April 2009 @ 10am,

The Shaolin Wahnam Institute of Ireland has more than 800 students all over Ireland who practice Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung and I am happy to announce that there are new Shaolin Kungfu students and  Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan. From little acorns................It is imperative that these elite arts are passed down to the next generation and generations to come. If we don't do our part, it will be a terrible loss for humankind.

Very few people nowadays are both healthy and happy, indeed it is even rare to be one. People are very stressed, they can't sleep, have stomach problems, catch cold easily, are easily tired, irritable and anxious.. Many suffer from chronic pain, infertility and lonliness. It is odd that people may look funnily at you if you declare that you are both happy and healthy. These 'chronic conditions are easily overcome by practising a high level art like Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung, Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan or Shaolin Kungfu.

Our most recent success have been some of the Cork students overcoming Diabetes, Menieres disease and Psoriasis. Many more have overcome  diabetes, chronic pain, arthritis, depression, lonliness, anxiety to name a few. In the past few weeks, another student who suffers from Ankloysing Spondilitis has his movement and curvature measured THREE times by his physiotherapist as she could not believe that he was improving............both in curvature and movement. A Tralee student has overcome Chron's disease.A Macroom student has overcome severe Liver damage (he is writing his story at present). This is a condition, like the others mentioned above, which are seen as 'incurable' but from the Chi Kung perspective, in theory nothing is incurable. There are three important aspects- The Art, The Teacher and The Student.............and there are also three hearts.........Confidence, Patience and Perservance. All healing begins in the 'heart' which in Chinese medicine often refers to the mind. So the student is an important factor in all of the above.

If having good health, freedom and happiness, as well as peace of mind are your objectives, then any of the courses below will help you acheive them. It may sound too good to be true that  practising for 15 minutes each day can actually help you, but you will never know unless you try. Please remember that ALL courses are satisfaction guaranteed. If at the end of any course you are not happy, you will be given a total refund. It is said that it is better to be a fool for a day than a lifetime! Time passes so quickly, it is always good to be doing something worthwhile.

Smile from the Heart,

Joan Sifu.

More information on Shaolin Chi Kung- what you will learn, benefits, code of conduct etc

You will be taught skills that have been used for centuries by the elite of China and by generals who needed excellent focus, calm,  good health and vitality to survive. These skills were taught in the Shaolin temple also to the monks to enhance their health, vitality,  mental focus and spiritual development. Everything about Shaolin Chi Kung is gentle and flowing, so it can be practised by everybody from 8 year olds upwards. (Special courses for under 16's by request only)

What you will learn at a weekend or weekly Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung course:

Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is an ancient Chinese art, which was kept a well guarded secret by the Chinese for many centuries. It was only taught to Emperors, generals and the elite students in the Shaolin temple. It is not a martial art, but can be used to build internal force in martial art training. Chi Kung incorporates form, breathing, mind focus and energy flow.

Today, we are very lucky to have the chance to learn this priceless art. Professor Sen, a leading Chinese Scientist, has predicted that high level ‘Chi Kung’ will be the greatest medical breakthrough in this century.

What are the benefits of regular practice?

Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung improves and maintains health, increases vitality, mental focus and internal force as well as aiding personal development and Spiritual cultivation.

Comments on last Dublin weekend course conducted by Sifu Joan Browne

 Jury's Hotel, April

  • Firstly, thank you for the great course last weekend. I have just finished my qigong morning practise! I feel like a door has just opened and a dark period of my life is coming to an end. So thank you Sifu and by proxy Sigong. As you know I had become very disillusioned with martial arts here in Ireland, so I am very interested in the possibility of Shaolin Kungfu coming here, it would be a wonderful opportunity. It would be an honour to be considered for any upcoming classes.  J.D.  Dublin.
  •  Sifu Joan, Thanks for a great course in the Jury’s Inn on April 1st and 2nd.   M.B. Dublin

Marine Hotel weekend- October.

  • Sifu Joan, Thanks for the weekend. it was great. If you are having one before Christmas, please put my name down. Rob.
  • Sifu Joan,
Anne and I would like to just say hello, we hope you are well and thank you
again for the time you spent with us on the course.
We are both enjoying practicing daily  and wondering what will happen next
    with the chi flows !
I have felt the benefits even in such a short time and I know that Anne
    feels the same way.
We hope to drop in on the Thursday session in the next few weeks and look
    forward to meeting you again.
    Best wishes
    Mark
